The amazonite is a feldspar (from German feld, field and spalten, split). In remembrance of the legend of the Amazons, the name was given to that green stone which, according to early explorers, the women of a tribe in northern Brazil offered to the men of a neighboring tribe. The region itself was named Amazonia. Amazonite is used to make necklaces 's balls and cabochons for jewelry. It comes mainly from Brazil, Madagascar, India, USA and Russia.
